A Cayman Islands family vacation should be a must on everyone travel bucket list. As a result, it is a great time to start planning your next vacation. You might be wondering which destination to visit. Therefore, I would recommend visiting the Cayman Islands and Grand Cayman in particular.
Location of Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands are an hour flying from Miami and northwest of Jamaica. The three-island chain consists of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. They are in the Western Caribbean and have a total mass of 480 square miles. A Cayman Islands family vacation should be a popular destination. As a matter of fact, it has numerous attractions for children
Grand Cayman is more populated. It is bustling with busy travelers but the other two smaller islands provide just as much family fun. They offer luxury resorts, affordable pricing and great entertainment. In any case, choosing the Cayman Islands is a sure bet for a wonderful tropical family vacation.
Cayman Islands family vacation activities
There are several things to do on Grand Cayman. Your vacation is not limited to cultural activities and enjoying nature. In addition, there are water sports, great food and the enjoyment of exploring the seven-mile beach. Grand Cayman has Kids Sea Camps during the summer weeks. As a matter of fact, they can engage in treasure hunting to win great prizes. Snorkeling and diving are very popular because of the beautiful waters in the Cayman Islands. The islands have three fun filled festivals. To begin with, there is Pirates’ Week. Of equal importance is Summer Splash and Cayman Brac Family Week. Each festival is filled with family friendly activities and water sports. You should plan your family vacation to take advantage of these festivals.
Stingray City is a big attraction on Grand Cayman. It is a series of shallow sand bars found in the North Western corner of the island. The attraction brings excitement and laughter to locals and visitors. The area has many sting rays. Individuals can interact and pet the animals. Kids can feed, hold and swim with the stingrays.
Seven Mile Beach
The seven-mile beach is interesting to explore. It is located on the Western shores of Grand Cayman and is cut up into several different areas. Above all it is considered one of the Ultimate beaches in the Caribbean by “Caribbean Travel and Life.” Several luxury resorts and hotels can be found on the beach. The Cayman Island tourist Board states that the beach is public but I had to pay a fee at one of the hotels to get access to the beach. In fact, our driver informed our group that the extreme end of the beach was public but it was not as attractive as the areas occupied by the resorts. The beach appears to be very popular as it had several visitors enjoying the clear waters and coral sand. I was amazed to see several schools of coral fishes swimming among us. They appeared unperturbed by our presence.
