Let us address the question everyone was quietly thinking when I said I was heading to Jamaica right after hurricane Melissa in 2025. People considered it a terrible choice. Let me tell you about my Christmas visit to the twin resorts of Grand Palladium Jamaica and Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa, where resilience, holiday cheer, and exceptional service showed up stronger than ever. I arrived at the resort fully prepared to manage expectations.

As a travel advisor, I have learned to keep my eyes wide open, and my optimism cautiously packed in my carry-on. If this was “post-hurricane recovery,” then Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa clearly missed the memo. The resort looked very impressive. I was not prepared for the beautifully maintained grounds, smooth check-in and staff smiling like Santa just approved of their wish list. From the moment I arrived at the Grand Palladium Jamaica, I felt welcomed into a world of vibrant culture, pristine beaches, and lush tropical gardens. Here is a sneak peek at what makes it so special.

Service That Deserves a Standing Ovation

Here is where Grand Palladium truly shined. Their quality of service was exceptional. And I mean everyone was nice considering the circumstances. In fact, everyone was attentive without hovering. The staff acted proactively, professionally, and with sincere compassion, without following a script. From housekeeping to dining staff to guest services, the team delivered consistently. If there was a challenge behind the scenes, you would never know it as a guest and that speaks volumes. When I advise my clients on resort options, these are precisely the qualities I seek. Great amenities matter, but great people make the experience at any resort a memorable vacation.

Another pleasant surprise? The resort’s amenities were fully operational and well-maintained. Multiple pools and beach areas were fully functional. A variety of restaurants offered quality dining options and places to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the resort. The Grand Palladium was fully open for couples seeking romance, families traveling during school breaks, or groups celebrating together. The resort delivered a full experience with no asterisks and no apologies.

Discover the Double Delight of Two Sister Resorts

The two sister resorts of Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort and Spa occupy twenty-three acres (9.5 hectares) in beautiful Jamaica. They have their own personality in this paradise. They are your twin tropical escapes nestled on the sunny north coast of Jamaica. And yes, these resorts bring their own special spice that sets them apart from every other beachy place on the island. Imagine turquoise waters, swaying palms, the irresistible beat of reggae in the air, and not one, but two incredible resorts playing tag team for your Jamaican getaway.

The twin resorts are located on the out skirts of Lucea.

Both resorts are in the tranquil area of Lucea, located within the Hanover parish. Think of it as Jamaica’s secret sweet quiet spot where fewer crowds mean more room for your hammock, more mojitos by the pool, and endless beach strolls. It is far enough from the hustle of Montego Bay for a peaceful Zen vibe, but close enough if you want to make a quick dash to the airport or the vibrant city buzz. You get the best of both worlds. The tranquility of Jamaican charm plus easy access to island adventures. Two resorts with one sprawling oceanfront playground. The Grand Palladium Jamaica and Lady Hamilton are like sibling resorts that share a swanky waterpark, shimmering pools, and over a eleven restaurants. So, if indecisiveness is your superpower, do not worry, you can hop between lounges, beach bars, and buffet lines without ever leaving paradise.

Grand Palladium Jamaica

My blog is exclusive to the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa because I resided at that resort. Most guests stayed at that resort. Although the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton was open, I learnt from the Sales Advisor that it was more manageable based on occupancy levels post hurricane Melissa, to upgrade the guests to the Jamaica property. The Grand Palladium is Jamaica’s Vibrant Pulse. This is where the party meets peace. With its lively beach vibe, themed nights, and activities ranging from live shows to snorkeling. It is perfect for travelers who want a splash of excitement mixed with laidback island time.

Sales Advisor
Grand Palladium Jamaica & Lady Hamilton Resorts & Spa

The only negative that stood out on my arrival was the lack of elevators. Vallencia Mignott, the Sales Advisor of Grand Palladium Jamaica & Lady Hamilton Resorts & Spa corrected that information. According to the sales Advisor, “…two elevators on the property, one in each lobby, Lady Hamilton and Jamaica. While there are no elevators in the villas, guests with accessible needs, such as wheelchair users, can be accommodated in villas with ramps at the entrances, as well as in our accessible rooms. These rooms are located on the ground floor and are close to the central amenities. Additionally, ramps are available in other areas of the property, including the Infinity Pool, Kids’ Water Park, and Las Brisas Beach.” I would recommend informing the resort during the reservation process to ensure clients get the correct room.

Accommodations at Grand Palladium Jamaica

My room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out with a comfortable bed and two inviting balconies. Even more impressive, I thought the room  was immaculate and well-maintained. This was a testament to the resort’s mindfulness and commitment to quality, especially impressive given the recent hurricane recovery. My accommodations were clean, spacious, and welcoming. No signs of chaos, no signs of compromise. Just comfortable rooms, festive décor, and that familiar Caribbean “you are on vacation now, relax” energy.

I occupied Room 1531 during my stay at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa.

In addition, the modern bathroom made it easy to unwind after a day of sun, sea, and one too many rum punches. If you think all-inclusive accommodations are just a place to sleep between beach time and buffet runs, Grand Palladium Jamaica is here to change your mind gently and stylishly. From the moment I stepped into my room, it was clear this resort understands that comfort is not a luxury add-on but the foundation of a great vacation. Please note my review is based on room 1531 which I occupied. It was a suite with separate living area.

Dining Delights:  Where “All-Inclusive” Gets an Upgrade

One of the most common all-inclusive concerns I hear from clients is, “Will I get bored of the food?” At Grand Palladium Jamaica, the answer is a confident no. Unless your idea of boredom includes choosing between eleven unique themed restaurants and bars. Prepare your taste buds for a culinary journey. With a fantastic selection of international à la carte restaurants and buffets, you can savor everything from authentic Jamaican flavors to Italian, Asian, and more. Because it is all inclusive, you can indulge without a second thought. Each venue feels intentionally designed, not recycled with a new sign. That variety matters especially for longer stays, groups, or guests celebrating milestones who want each night to feel a little different.

Guests can enjoy a diverse culinary journey from:

Dinner at the Sumtuori restaurant during my stay.
  • El Dorado: a delicious steak house with the best cuts of Grilled meat.
  • La Adelita:  Mexican restaurant with the most authentic gastronomic offer. The burritos, norteña’s and margaritas are a must try.
  • Sumptuori: a teppanyaki restaurant with show cooking and Japanese specialties (My favorite)
  • Portofino: an Italian restaurant that specializes in homemade pizza and pasta, among other traditional dishes.
  • Poseidon: beachfront a la carte restaurant with self-service buffet. Famous for its roasted fish and delicious rice dishes (great venue during beach time).
  • Bhogali: spices, curries, and savory sauces abound in this tantalizing Indian restaurant (my least favorite).
  • Xaymaica: discover Jamaica Cuisine with its spicy and unmistakable flavors ( I loved the ambiance and great food).
  • Mobay: The daily buffet was exceptional and had more meat options that I could savor.
  • 11 Unique Themed Bars: including swim up bars, beach bars, lobby and waiting bars, sports, and lounge bars.

Christmas Day, Caribbean-Style

The resort was fully into the holiday spirit, and it showed. The entire resort was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. Furthermore, the Christmas dinners were thoughtfully prepared, and the events coordinated with both efficiency and ease. The atmosphere felt warm, joyful, and most importantly stress-free for guests. For families, couples, and groups traveling during the holidays, that sense of calm and normalcy after a major storm is huge.
