Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino or the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel is part of the Starwood family of hotels. The hotel is located at 200 Convention Boulevard in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is approximately 10 minutes from the Luis Munoz Marin International airport. The Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino provides easy access to a lot of local activities.
What’s more, it is close to the cruise ship ports and the old San Juan historic district. In fact, an ocean view room will provide a good view of cruise ships in port. The Sheraton Convention Center Hotel is much closer to the Pan American cruise ship terminal. It is the port for the Princess, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise lines. The old San Juan cruise port is the other cruise port in Puerto Rico. As the name states, it is in old San Juan. It is approximately a 10-minute drive going across the river.
Hotel Description
Built in 2007 and is stylish with 503 rooms. In addition, it also contains 22 luxurious suites. There are 4 conference rooms. They occupy 35,000 square feet of flexible event space. Furthermore, the conference rooms have the latest technology, including high-speed Internet access. The Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino is also opposite to the Convention Center. The convention Center has fabulous state of the art equipment. As a result, it is an ideal location for meetings and of course conventions.
The Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino has three restaurants. The award-winning restaurant “Choices” is on the first floor. Secondly, the district bar is near the casino. Lastly, the pool bar and grill can be found beside the beautiful infinity pool on the fourth floor. The latter restaurant is part of a 57,000 square foot sun deck. It is littered with umbrellas and chairs for sun-bathing. There is a kiddie pool and 3 adult pools.
The infinity pool takes advantage of the hotel’s ocean view. You can lean over the ledge and enjoy the gorgeous Puerto Rico coast from the fourth floor. The main eating area is the nightly buffet at the Asian Grill. The eating house is very popular. You require an advance reservation to get a seat. I am unable to provide a review of the food. I was unsuccessful on two separate occasions. They were booked two days out.
Memorable staff
I think the biggest asset of the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino is its staff. I felt very much at home. The staff went out of their way to make my stay an enjoyable experience. They were also very knowledgeable about the Puerto Rico. They provided valuable information about the island main attractions. This made getting around the island very easy.
My room was very comfortable and spacious. Although it was a standard room with two double beds. It contained a flat screen TV. In addition, to a tub for showering and free coffee and water daily. There was also free complimentary Internet service. Most importantly, there was a 24 hour in room dining service. Other hotel amenities at the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel included an Internet cafe and a well-equipped gym.
I wish to strongly recommend the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino which is also known as the Sheraton Convention Center Hotel to the potential visitor to the island of Puerto Rico. I was impressed with the service provided. In summary, I would give them thumbs up for excellent service and caring for their guests.
