Snorkeling in Hawaii Big Island was my first snorkeling experience. In fact, this happened while visiting the Big Island during the summer of 2013. What is more, snorkeling in Hawaii is one of several popular water activities available on the island. In fact, snorkeling is extremely popular throughout the entire tropical islands of Hawaii.
I had the option to choose from several popular water activities. I researched numerous companies on the tropical islands of Hawaii. Fortunately, a friend recommended the Fair Wind Company. The company provides a “fantastic snorkeling experience” according to their brochure. Above all, the company has more than 40 years’ experience in popular water activities especially snorkeling in Hawaii. In addition, the company has several favorable reviews. Therefore, I choose Snorkeling from all the options available.
We were transferred to our Snorkeling in Hawaii location on a vessel called the “Twin Hall II.” It is a popular snorkeling spot. The area is called Kealakekua Bay. It is a Hawaiian sacred site. As a matter of fact, the Hawaiian Fertility God, Lono’makahiki lived there. The bay is also incredibly famous. It is the bay where Captain Cook landed on the island. The site has a monument to remember him.
Snorkeling in Hawaii
The “Twin Hull II” is a 60 ft custom built boat. It was comfortable and spacious. There were over 100 passengers on the trip. I must give credit to the Twin Hall crew. What is more, they provided expert advice and high-quality equipment for the snorkeling expedition. Everyone was amazingly comfortable on the snorkeling in Hawaii trip. Although I was a rookie snorkeler. I was excited to go into the ocean. Without a doubt, the general information provided was of tremendous help. It prepared me for the worse scenarios.
The seabed s decorated with several varieties of beautiful colored corals. They are a complement to the numerous coral fishes. The highlight of the day was a school of dolphins nearby. As a matter of fact, they were popping in and out of the water to catch our attention.
Snorkeling in Hawaii Big Island was an adventure. It was an hour and a half of fun and frolic in the ocean. Unfortunately, it came to an end. The return journey was enjoyable. Everyone was excited about their experience. The crew of the Twin Hall II provided snacks on the return journey. As a result of this snorkeling in Hawaii experience. I am looking forward to my next snorkeling adventure in the tropical islands of Hawaii.
